Free Prince2 Exam Guide. How do I start?
So you've decided that you
want to sit the PRINCE2 Examinations... what's the best way?
Use our study material to teach yourself the subject,
using reading material, quizs and mock tests. Then when you are ready sit the
examination via an Open Centre Book An Exam.
The Exams
- If you want to become a Registered
Practitioner, you MUST sit the Foundation Exam and then the Practitioner
Exam, in that order.
- You can sit both exams in the same week or
even day, or you can split them and sit them months (or even years!)
apart.
- If you pass both examinations in the same
week, you will receive a Practitioner Certificate but not a Foundation
Certificate - as you cannot sit the Practitioner exam without first
having passed the Foundation, it is not necessary to send a separate
Foundation Certificate.
- You do not have to take a course to
sit the examinations - it is down to your personal preference.
Learning Style
- Instructor led teaching ,
With full-time 5 days courses, you will receive 2.5 days teaching, before embarking on the Foundation Exam (normally Wednesday Afternoon), you then spend another days of study (all day Thursday) and attempt the much more challenging Practitioner exam on the Friday.
- Self Study Foundation,
First Self-Study the Foundation exam, use the material and quizs to consolidate knowledge. When you are ready book the exam at an Open Centre Book Exam . Most people who study a little and take the Foundation exam pass. If you had paid for a training course, you would have covered this material in 2.5 days, at home you have much longer, so this should be achievable.
- Self Study Practitoner, As well as preparing you for the Foundation exam you will also get you ready for the Practitioner exam; this exam is not about what you know about Prince2 but how to apply your knowledge. To overcome your lack of real world experience, you need detailed case studies of application of Prince2 and quizs to help you through. If you do this as a part of a 5 days course, you get 1 day with a Qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner to cover application of Prince2.
The Foundation is the first of the two PRINCE2
Examinations you are required to pass to become a PRINCE2 Practitioner.
This level is aiming to measure whether a candidate would be able to act as
an informed member of a project management team using the PRINCE2 method
within a project environment supporting PRINCE2. To this end they need
to show they understand the principles and terminology of the method.
